Well this latest blog post is LONG overdue! Life has been pretty busy at the Johnson household so I just haven't gotten around to posting an update. Preston has been very busy studying for his next exam, which is at the end of the month. Work has been busy for me as well, plus just keeping up with everything else we have going on. Jacie is growing like weed and learning new things every day. She is my little chatterbox. It is so fun because these days I can pretty much carry on a full conversation with her. She is quite the little Miss Sassy pants. She is not afraid to tell us what she thinks and how she feels. She is such a joy though, every day is a new adventure.
Above is a picture of her on the potty. She is definitely showing interest, but we are holding off on really trying until after her Birthday. We let her sit on there though, just to get used to it. She looked so cute with her little magazine...I just couldn't resist snapping a picture. This is what you show the boyfriend on that first date right! :)
My mom made Jacie this quilt. She started it while I was pregnant with her and we decided that she would make it to use on her toddler bed since we had so many baby blankets. Preston's aunt Rosie helped me sew this patchwork border around the outside and then I did the same thing on the back. I am now working on the sheets and the valance for her room. After her Birthday in May we will do a room makeover and move her to her toddler bed. It is so hard to believe we are almost to that point!!!
Zachary came to town in January and brought his girlfriend for all of us to meet. We all though Mackenzie was awesome and had a great time. This was our random Thursday night at the old standby, Conan and Kelly's!
Jacie was having outdoor withdrawl so her and daddy bundled up to make a snowman. Too bad it only took Hannah about five minutes to steel all of the food off of the snowman face! :) Jacie had a blast though and every time she has seen snow since then she has said "snowman, snowman, snowman!" Sometimes I can't believe her memory!
In March we took a visit to Minneapolis to see friends and family. We got to stay with Mark and Kari for two nights so Jacie and Allie got to play. We took them to this place that had a giant ball pit and inflatables. Obviously Jacie was in heaven!!!
The main reason for our trip was to celebrate our darling nephews' birthdays. Lucas was turning three and Ethan was celebrating his first birthday. We got each of the boys a lawn mower, just like the one Jacie has. They were definitely a hit!
This past weekend Mark, Kari and Allie made a rode trip to visit. We had such an amazing weekend. The girls had SOOOOO much fun playing together. We took them to the zoo, we played on the swing set and they enjoyed taking out about every toy that we own in our living room! The adults had a fun night out too. All in all it was an amazing weekend!
