Things just don't slow down!!!

So life has definitely not slown down at the Johnson household these days and it won't be slowing down any time in the near future. Preston has been traveling for work quite a bit and my plate has been full as usual. Last weekend I threw a shower for my friend Kristin. We hosted the shower at our house, so needless to say that was extremely crazy! The shower went great and that night our friends Ben and Laura came over for dinner since we hadn't seen them in a while. It was great catching up.

Child...that hair is ridiculous!!!

Jacie and Laura hanging out!

She loves the tickle monster!!! She has gotten a bit more naughty these days. She has learned to spit out her food if she doesn't like it. It is quite frustrating, but sometimes it is hard not to laugh. I have learned that I just have to tell her no and turn my head because if I smile even one bit she starts laughing because she thinks it is funny.

She has also decided that she does not need to eat baby food any more. We have much better luck if we let her feed herself. She is a bit independent...I wonder where she gets that from! :)
On a side note we have been having some major issues with ear infections. She has had an ear infection for over 3 straight weeks now and even after two rounds of antibiotics she still hasn't kicked it. I am kind of running out of ideas at this point...I am hopeful that it clears up in the near future.

This weekend we took a trip to Kansas to go and visit my brother Zach. It worked out perfectly. We showed up and it was 60 degrees out. We were at the game for about five minutes when Zach was put in to pitch. He pitched an amazing game and his team ended up winning. We had to deck Jacie out in some FS apparel...and unfortunately they don't make any small enough for her, so I just had to improvise! She looked so cute!
This is Jacie cheering for her uncle...Go Greyhounds! :)

Her and Uncle Z after the game. He is growing some sort of nasty mustache...you can see it if you zoom in and look very carefully. We love you anyways Zachary.

Aside from enjoying the games we got to take Zach out to dinner and breakfast to treat him to some "non-dorm" food. It was really great to get to spend some time with him, we miss him a lot and he won't be home again until right before J's Birthday.

Daddy and J hanging at the hotel.

Finally...we have had some big news in the last two weeks. We have another new nephew...Ethan Matthew Gens was born on Thursday, Feb. 25th. He was 7lb 8oz and is SOOOOO stinkin cute. I am a little biased, but he reminds me a lot of Jacie when she was first born. We are going to get to meet him very soon so just wait for some adorable pictures of all the cousins!!!

Swimming Lessons

Jacie had her first swimming lessons today with daddy...she loved it! She went to Swimtastic, which is very close to our house. She learned all sorts of new tricks, including going underwater. She hasn't quite figured out that she needs to close her mouth yet...but she will get there. All and all daddy and Jacie had a great time!

She got to practice her climbing skills.
She really didn't want to have to drop those balls in bucket...she wanted to eat them instead!

We are on the move!

We are officially on the move...Jacie is ALL over the place! She is just so much fun and such a happy baby. Each day her personality shines through more and more...and let me tell you, this girl knows what she wants. She already has a little attitude and she is a bit dramatic. I think we are going to have our hands full, that is for sure!!!

These are some fun pictures I took on a random evening at home.

This is what it is like trying to take her picture now that she moves...sooooo frustrating!
Her new favorite place to play, jumping all over the couch!

So it has been a long time since we have posted and we have some exciting news! Allie Kathleen Rivers was born on January 20, 2010 - 9lb 1oz. Jacie finally has a little girlfriend. She is absolutely adorable. We of course had to make a trip to the cities asap to meet her. Jacie didn't quite know what to think...but she checked her out. Kari and I of course had to dress them in matching outfits as soon as possible. We wasted NO time...how cute do they look together??? I can only imagine in another year the two of them will be running around together causing all sorts of trouble, just like their mommies did when they first met! :)

This girl loves to be naked...watch out dad! She is sporting her gopher hat...it is just so darn cute, I can hardly take it!
Uncle Preston...he is a fan of those little babies these days.
Seems like J was that small just yesterday!
Moms with their girls!
Little Miss A...what a beauty!

The same weekend we had a surprise shower for Matt and Rachel since their little man Ethan will be arriving any day. I didn't take any photos, but will hopefully be getting some from the people who were there soon. We are so excited to meet Ethan Matthew any day now...all these babies, I am in heaven!!!!

Our final Christmas!

The up north tour began in Minneapolis and was very quick. Our first stop was at the Rivers'. We had a great time catching up and it was our last visit before the arrival of baby Rivers. We are so excited we can hardly wait! Jacie had a great time playing with Uncle Mark!

Auntie Kari picked out this adorable cabage patch doll for Jacie...her first one!

2nd stop was at the Grier house. Poor Lucas and Jacie, their mommy's are obsessed with dressing them alike. It is soooooo cute though! :)
They are staring at eachother thinking WHAT THE HECK ARE THEY DOING TO US!?!?!
We got Lucas this adorable "old man" hat!
And Jacie got her first basketball, some adorable clothes and a BEAUTIFUL crystal ornament.
Then we had our breakfast get together. Kari joined us, we where able to catch up with our friend Paul because he was visiting from Germany (his new home, and Barry and Brenna came. They got Jacie her first football, a Packers one of course. They also got her some Packer socks. It was great to catch up with them too!
On to the farm to celebrate with the Barbers and Johnsons! Lucas was reading his cousing a story. He is so sweet to her, it is really fun to watch the two of them together and I think that is only going to get to be more and more fun with time.
Christmas at the Barber's was full of gifts as usual. Jacie got a Teddy Ruxpin, which was her daddy's FAVORITE toy when he was little.
And Grandpa B made both Jacie and Lucas one of this adorable rocking chairs.
This is what I call heaven...reading a story to two of my favorite babies!
Best buds...and TROUBLE! :)

All and all it was an amazing holiday...crazy but a great time. We love getting to spend time with family and friends. Here is to 2010! :)

Christmas Part 2

Well Christmas at the Johnson household didn't go quite as planned given about 12 inches of snow managed to dump down just in time for the holidays. It definitely caused us to have a little change of plans! We were originally planning to celebrate just the three of us on Christmas morning, but because of the pending storm we opened gifts Christmas Eve right before church.
Jacie going to town...her motivation was not what was inside the box, but rather the opportunity to shove the paper in her mouth!!!
Oh...it's just clothes! :)

She isn't my daughter at all!!! :)

Jacie picked out this great set of blocks for daddy for Christmas...I am not quite sure who will enjoy them more, Jacie or Daddy...it is a definite toss up!

After church we headed over to my parent's house for our annual Christmas Eve celebration. We had a nice evening and opened gifts, but unfortunately it was cut short because TJ had to go out and push snow...TOTAL BUMMER! By this time it was dumping down and luckily we packed an extra set of clothes so we could just camp out at Tom and Thea's!

Jacie didn't care about the storm...she was content eating her puffs and sporting her cute bib from Grandma Jo.

The whole crew...we just keep growing!

Good thing Santa always knows where to find you, he brought Jace this adorable chair. She looks so cute sitting in it!

Getting a photo with her and Hannah is always a challenge...this was the best we could do! :)

We got up Christmas morning in hopes that we could make it to Grandma and Grandpa Weinandt's...but no such luck. The roads where horrible and we did not want to risk it with J-Bear. We hunkered down and had prime rib at my parents...good thing they where prepared. We had hoped to get home that night...but no such luck yet again, the 6 foot drifts on our street kept us from making it home. Finally the plows came through the evening of the 26th.

Since we missed Christmas in Fremont we did brunch on Sunday morning. Jacie wasn't spoiled at all! Look at all of these toys!!!

More to come...once we head up north for part three!!!

Christmas has begun!

This past weekend we kicked off the month long Christmas marathon we have at the Johnson household. First stop was Manning, Iowa to see my grandma and cousins. It was Jacie's first official Christmas celebration and the first time she has opened a gift! :) Of course all she cared about was eating the box and wrapping paper. We are definitely looking forward to all of the celebrations to come. Here are a few of our favorite photos from the first!

Jacie and her second cousins: Jenna, Hanna, and McKenna

Who needs presents when we have boxes???

We had to make a trip to the mall to visit Santa. J didn't really know what to think, she didn't seem to mind Santa at all! :)
